Well I’m home with my fur face…it’s been real

So my quickie trip to Boston did not go as planned…that’s putting it mildly.  Let’s start at the beginning.

I drove myself to the airport so that Id have my car when I got home since My Love was not going to be with me.  He’s on a road trip to a convention he was going to out of state.  My fur face was staying at her favorite 2nd home Bark at the World .  My Mom had told me that my Grandfather was in the hospital with pneumonia.  I honestly didn’t think too much of it…..that was my mistake.

I get to my Mom’s and my sister is there with my nieces, my Mom and an aunt or two…kind of odd for a Thursday.  It was said that we needed to go see Pop.  I seem to forget that he and my Gram are 81.  They don’t bounce back like they used to.  Pop was in a BAD BAD way.  It absolutely rocked me to my core…he can’t go yet.  We’ve been very very spoiled just to have them as grand parents for the past 37 years.  Although they’re only “grandparents” they have been so so so much more to Sister and me.  We lived with them for 8 plus years.  The best years growing up.  I have my best childhood memories with them.  My mom worked her butt off all the time and took night classes until she graduated from college.  Pop took early retirement at 55, we were always with them.  Camping every weekend all summer long and a week in the summer, a trip to Disney.  So many of my best memories are living on Eustis St at the end of a dead end having fun for years…..

My grandfather is the main guy of the house…My Dad wasn’t in the house.  Pop was.  Sister and I learned things that are no longer taught.  Respect, honor, love, all the good stuff that matters in life.  You get your butt up if you’re sitting in Pop’s seat.  From Gram I got “You never feel bad for doing the right thing.”  They’re great great people and I’m a better person to have learned life lessons from them directly.

Great news: Pop’s doing MUCH MUCH better.  I did extend my trip for a couple days.  I just couldn’t leave…not like he was.  I broke a few speed limits getting to my Bailey last night.  She’s been sleeping ever since.

I had a TERRIBLE weigh in today.  I had to pay for all of the bad things I ate all week.  I now know that that sucks so I won’t do it again this week.  I’m starting couch to 5 K either tonight or tomorrow 🙂

Here’s some random pics of my past week!!!!  Egg hunt, coloring eggs, Bailey pics, beer and the best gift I’ve ever gotten: I love you to the moon and back bracelet from My Peanut ❤

Thank you!

Thank you for another safe day in Denver!

I just wanted to acknowledge the military on this gorgeous Memorial Day in Denver!  I’m reminded of all of those who have served, and all of the families of the people who have served, and all of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  You are very brave!

On this Memorial Day it is not about the BBQ’s or the pool parties or the beach day; well it shouldn’t be.  I just wanted to take 5 out of my day to thank all of the brave men and women in the services.  THANK YOU!!!

Still crushing it!!

We are Winning the Day big time!!!

We’re eating clean, we’re working out, we’re setting goals for our week, we’re logging our food, drinking water, sleeping…BOOM!!!

I’ve been a bit off for the past week and a half, but who doesn’t have their off days?  Mine just lasted a little longer 🙂  I’ve also had a headache this week.  BUT I did rally and hit the gym today.  Like they say in the fitness world: Never miss more than 3 days in a row.  I have to workout every day until the end of the week to hit my 4 workouts this week, but it’s totally do-able.

We’ve been making some absolutely delicious food! We had chicken and broccoli stir fry last night, and turkey and quinoa stuffed peppers the night before…yummm!!  I’ll have to learn how to add them and give credit for them 🙂 We’re doing 1-2 shakes, smoothies or Advocare Meal Replacement (I’m LOVING the vanilla right now!!!) and then a super clean dinner.

So, today is my anniversary with My Love!!!  4 years of insane happiness!!!  I took a leap of faith to move to Colorado from Boston to take a chance on love with My Love…and I’ve literally never been happier!! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤  He makes me smile when I’m full of tears.  He’s my backbone when mine is away.  He’s my better half, my life, my world, my why.  He’s my accountability partner in our adventure to get fit.  I’ve set my goal to FIT@40 and I know I’ve got this!!!  We’re a great influence on each other now that we’re serious in taking this journey all the way!!  I can’t wait to see our results at the end of the Advocare 24 Day Challenge!!  Today is day 17!  It’s coming up, I’d better get to work!!!

We’re indulging in sushi galore tonight.  We’ll make any healthy swaps we can: limiting or omitting crunchy rolls, using brown rice, getting sashimi…we’ll experiment and see what we can do.  There’s no wrong answer with sushi!  I just love love love sushi!!!

I had a meeting with a great gal who is a Life Coach.  We were chatting and she is SO HELPFUL!!!!  I spilled my guts and told her information that she needed to make an assessment for me.  The outcome was: I need to do what makes me happy.  If I’m doing something that I’m not happy with, I won’t be successful.  I was kind of in a “DUR!!!” moment.  It seems so simple, why was I having trouble?  Dur Chrissi!

So all in all I’m a happy, happy gal!  Madly in love, living the good life!  I’m am so blessed!  Thank you Universe!!!

And I’m a still a failing blogger

I have been having so much fun lately! Traveling a lot is on the calendar for the year. My Love has been doing a significant amount of traveling this past month. I think he’s been home 1 night in the past 3 weeks and he still isn’t coming home for a week. I’m lucky enough to get to fly to Vegas Monday to meet him there for his birthday!! I’m really looking forward to it!!

I’ve been consistently using My Fitness Pal to log all foods I’ve eating for the past few months. Now that I’m consistent with it I want to take it to the next level and take down the calories for the day. I won’t lose much at all if I stay with what I do now. I’m so excited to do our next AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge on Monday April 14!!! Boy do we need a fresh start. I have a lot of networking friends that do AdvoCare as well and they’re starting on this Monday. We just wouldn’t cleanse in Las Vegas, let’s be honest!

I’m missing my Dad a lot this past week. Sister and I had to go through and separate all of Dad’s things when I was in Boston for my little Chicken’s 1st birthday. We donated all that we could. He had a bunch of knife collections that were expected, but he also had some other collections that were complete surprises. Dad is so random! Luckily Sister has people at work that would love to have them. I’m not someone who could appreciate them unfortunately. It would’ve been ideal to take pictures of everything and sell them on EBay but we know less than nothing about all of those things so selling them to someone she knows was a comfort to me. I’m not trying to make money on my Dad’s passing, I just want his things to be cared for 😃

Going to try to be super productive today and clean up the house so we will come home to a clean house 😃

Day 3 of headaches, BOOOOOO!!! I’m loving the Botox for migraines!!! All of my headaches are accounted for, except the hormonal one I get every month. I stay hydrated, take vitamins, take allergy pills every day and go see my Neurologist every 3 months for the Botox. It’s has literally given me back my life!!!

I’m not looking forward to it but I’m ready to do measurements and weigh in for this challenge. We need a good swift kick in the booty!!!

Two days until Vegas!!! I can’t wait to see My Love!!! I’m such a dork!

Oh November!!!

So I’ve been a major blogging slacker!

We went to Boston for our niece’s Baptism and it was a super fast but super good visit.  5 days of food, fun, family, visiting and some church.  It was great to see my Peanut and my Chicken…well and Mom and Sister too 🙂  I love that I can go there and visit and be totally okay with returning to my home with My Love.  Does that make me a bad person?  I love my family but I’m a healthier and happier person being a little bit away.  We made sure we had all of our food Must Haves: Kelly’s Lobster Roll, amazing home made Italian food, and great pizza.  CHECK, CHECK and CHECK!!!  It was a super yummy visit!!  Now all I am craving is SUSHI!!!

How was your November?

How was your holiday?

Thanksgiving at our house was AMAZING!!

I’m happy with our holiday…and not so happy with the massive quantities of food that were consumed.  We did ROCK the leftovers though.  We had the super important leftover sandwich, open faced and gravy covered….BEST PART!!!!!  I saw that Paula Deen had a Turkey Minestrone Soup recipe going around Facebook and we needed to try it.  So delicious!!!!  The broth got eaten up by the other ingredients, still amazing!

As it is Cyber Monday and the 2nd of the month I’m hoping to continue my working out and reel in my eating.  I’ve been doing my workouts pretty consistently but I’ve been eating STUPIDLY!!!  You can’t workout 3 days a week and have pizza and drinks all the time.  I know better!!!  It’s a little bit tricky since My Love and I aren’t right on the same page fitness wise right now.  We will be soon, I just have to up my will power!!!  As long as we have healthy choices on hand and ready to go we should be good!!!

Oh my goodness I almost forgot to tell you: My Love put his notice in for his resignation from the stupid casino!!!!!!!  9 more shifts then he’s ALL DONE!!!!!  YAYAYAYAYYYYYY!!!

Once he finishes up his last shift we are ROAD TRIPPING TO MICHIGAN!!!!!  It’ll be the first time in 8 years that his whole family will be together for Christmas!!!  How excited is he?!?!?!?  I’m excited!!!  It’ll be a 2 day expedition each way but it’s nothing we haven’t done before…we did drive from Boston to Denver to get me here when I moved here 🙂  FUN!!!  We are certainly going to need some prepped and ready healthy choices for the road!!!  I’m so excited!!!  Can you tell!?!?  🙂

Pictured is how we supported Colorado Proud products on Thanksigiving 🙂  YUMMMMM!!!

So…it’s a beautiful September afternoon here in the Mile High City

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen!

I’ve been working hard at everything lately, even though I’ve been sick for a week!  I’ve been eating healthy and keeping my food journal, as well as doing some meal prep.  I’ve been getting in my workouts, not as many as I would ideally like but I’m getting there.  I’ve been making appointments and using my upline.  I’ve been doing my reading and staying accountable.  I’m looking to keep my eye on the prize…My Love getting out of the dreaded casino.

We went to the Red Sox game last week, although here it would’ve been called the Rockies game 🙂  It was awesome!!  THEY WON!!!  We haven’t been to a game all year, it was the last home game of the season.  We went just in time!  Luckily we’ve been to 2 Red Sox games this year.  One in Boston, one in Denver.  We’re cool like that 🙂

I’m not looking at the scale yet, I hate that thing.  I will say that my face looks a TINY bit thinner.  I think I got sick as I got the nasties out of me 🙂  I feel much better now!  I’m going to to back the the actual gym Wednesday.  I go to 24 Hour Fitness and they’ve remodelled.  I’m looking forward to seeing it.  I’m going to do weight training in with my cardio, I’m so excited!!!  I’ve missed it!

We have a date day this week!!!  I love date day with My Love!  I’m hoping to take some pictures, for you and my Instagram.  I’m liking IG.  Do you all have IG accounts?  May I follow you?

Leave me a comment so I know you were here!!!  I’ll follow you back!
